Types of Columns

Columns or Struts are defined as compression parts with an effective length that exceeds three times the smallest side size.

A structural element that mainly bearing compression forces along the axis is called a compression part.

When compression is subjected to a vertical member, it is called a column, and when it is inclined or horizontal, it is called a strut.
